Against Me! have released the first video from New Wave for the track “White People For Peace”. The new album hits stores on July 10th, a huge release day which also boasts new albums from Bad Religion, Gogol Bordello, Spoon, Smashing Pumpkins, Patton Oswalt, Interpol…wow.

Metal titans SHADOWS FALL have released a flash-based video game in support of their latest album, Threads of Life. In order to win, you must drive the band’s tour bus through various hazards and get them to a show. A copy of Guitar Hero II is being offered as a prize for those who play, so check it out!

Motocade is a self-described indie rock band from Aukland, New Zealand. The gents were nice enough to send along a couple MP3s for me to check out and I thought it only fair to share it with all of you. If you’re into Strokes rock, it would not be a far stretch to assume you’ll be into this. Check out the MP3s for “My Friends” and “Bomb Squad” below as well as the video for “My Friends.”

Since the release of this album, there has been a scare lately of the sun setting on this British singer/songwriter’s musical empire since he called for a hiatus last April.  The 23 year old Patrick Wolf’s third album is rich with complex layers of strings, horns, drums, synths, and vocal harmonies which are both mature beyond his years, but still more playful than the youngest at heart.  The charming title track is a perfect contrast to the melancholy experienced on “Magpie”.  I actually had a very hard time writing this review as I could not find a niche to clump him into; not bad for someone who used to be a street performer.  Songs like the carefree “Accident Emergency” and the Sufjan Stevens-esque “(Let’s Go) Get Lost” keep the album lighthearted whereas the mournful “Augustine” and the experimental “Secret Garden” remind you there’s more to Mr. Wolf than what’s on the surface.  The vocals can seem a little reserved at times, but this seems only to emphasize the moments when he does break out of his shell.  It’s scary to think someone so young can make such great music and is already calling it quits.  Could this be the end?
